JOHN PORTER (alias Parker) In 1546 he applied to Henry VIII for a yearly pension which had been paid to him by the Priory of Mountgrace and had ceased after the dissolutionof the Monastries. The application was succesful and this pension continued until at least 1908. 8th December 1513

THOMAS LEADBETTER Thomas Leadbetter was ejected from the church for refusing to use the Anglican common prayer book in services in 1662. He went on to form the Unitarian Church in Hinckley in a private house, with illegal services being held until 1672 when a "toleration" allowed private houses to be used for worship. Died 4th November 1679 1652

SAMUEL PARR Was a stout athletic man; and though remarkably peaceful, was once seduced into a battle by a strong fellow who stood in his way in a narrow entry at Hinckley on purpose to provoke him into a boxing match and although a reluctant fighter the vicar won. Buried 2nd November 1720 30th October 1704
JOHN CARTER LLB Had an appaulling memory, he even forgot to turn up to his own wedding. The congregation were often kept waiting for services because he had forgotten his duty. He was however apart from this failing a very good vicar. Died 17th September 1735 1720

JOHN BLAIR LLD FRS Resigned 1771 to take up a post at St Brides in the City of London, going on then to become rector of St John the Evangelist in Westminster. He died of influenza in 1782. 1761

Retired in May 1991 after 35 years at age 80. He was born in Manchester. He served as a chaplain in the RAF during the war. He was the chaplain at Hinckley Hospital for over 30 years.
