Peter started learning the piano aged 4, and progressed through to grade 8. Starting Organ lessons aged 9, with Norman Wilson Organist and Choir Master at St John's Boscombe, where Peter was head boy in the choir. Peter continued his organ studies with lessons at Winchester Cathedral and held posts as Organist at Westcliffe Baptist Church, Westbourne. St Johns Surrey Road, Branksome, where he had a large choir that sung at Coventry Cathedral amongst other venues. Peter was also a regular recitalist in the Hampshire and Dorset area at this time.

He then moved to St Swithuns Church, Bournemouth and finally succeeded Norman Wilson at St Johns Boscombe for a short period, before moving to Wales where he was Organist of All Saints Church Mumbles, recording several times for BBC Wales.

Peter has been in Hinckley since 1997 firstly at Hinckley URC and upon the rebuilding of the Organ at St Mary's moved here in April of 2005. Peter is once again giving recitals both at St Mary's and further a field.

Since 2010 peter has worked hard to increase choir numbers and they now sing at least twice a month as well as at special services. In 2011 John Whittaker appointed Peter as Director of Music, and Peter intends to work hard to bring together and involve all the musical talents of the church.

Peter is the lead Organist at St Mary's and plays the majority of Sunday Services and Weddings.

In 2013 he has been booked for recitals at Leicester Cathedral, Hinckley URC as part of the Leicestershire organists association benevolent Fund concert and at St Mary's. He will also combine in 2013 again with Simon Headley Assistant organist at the Cathedral to lecture at Leicestershire Organist Associations "reluctant organists day" for the 4th year in a row. Peter is currently Secretary for the Midlands branch of the RSCM.
